Check an IEP goal

Send one goal sentence. You get a measurability verdict, a note on each of the four parts of a measurable goal (baseline, mastery criterion, measurement method, timeline), and a suggested rewrite.

Define an IEP term

Plain-language definitions of IEP and special-education terms, from the same glossary that runs on iep-ally.com.

Find your state's parent resources

The parent training center, protection and advocacy agency, and state education agency for every state and DC, each checked against the organization's own website.

Privacy

  • Goal text is sent to Anthropic to produce the check, then discarded. IEP Ally does not store or log it.
  • Term and state lookups are answered from IEP Ally's own data and are not stored.
  • We never receive your conversation, only what the assistant sends to the tool. Location and device details the platform attaches are discarded unread.
  • Please send only the goal sentence. Never paste your child's name or full IEP into an assistant.
  • These tools are for parents and other adults, not for children under 13.

Limits

In ChatGPT, each person can run 5 goal checks an hour. In Claude and other assistants that don't pass an anonymized user id, everyone shares one hourly allowance, and every assistant shares one daily limit. When a limit is reached, the tool says so instead of returning a result.

Checking a whole IEP

The goal checker looks at one goal at a time. Goal-check results end with a link to a page about the full IEP check, which gives a plain-English breakdown of the goals, services, and accommodations in the whole document. Term lookups link to that term's glossary page, and state lookups link to that state's resources page.
