Mediation

Rights

A voluntary, free process where you and the school work with a neutral third party (mediator) to resolve disagreements about your child's education. It's less formal than due process and can be faster.

Mediation in context

Mediation comes up across the IEP process — in your IEP document, during meeting prep, and in the federal rights that protect your child. IEP Ally explains where it shows up and what to do about it.
